Lisa Madsen

UNFI National Director of Sustainability and Philanthropy

Lisa Madsen is the National Director of Sustainability & Philanthropy for UNFI. She is responsible for overseeing the environmental and philanthropic initiatives for the company and its subsidiaries.

Since 2009, UNFI has installed three large scale solar power arrays, converted a distribution center to hydrogen fuel cell technology for Material Handling Equipment, and designed four LEED® certified buildings. Ms. Madsen was responsible for the implementation of UNFI’s National Payroll Giving Campaign, Associate Relief Fund, and Corporate Volunteer Program.

Ms. Madsen has been in the natural products industry since 1991, is a LEED® Accredited Professional, and member of the Rhode Island Green Building Council and the Food Trade Sustainability Leadership Association. In addition, she also serves on the Board of Directors for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank.
