Phoebe Beierle
Green Schools Fellow, Boston Public School District at U.S. Green Building Council
In 2011, Phoebe Beierle was selected as the Boston Public Schools, Green School Fellow – a three year position supported by UTC and the Center for Green Schools. Phoebe brings a diverse background in the green building, renewable energy and non-profit industries as well as a passion for greening America’s schools, to her work in Boston. Through effective collaborations with various stakeholders across the city and state, Phoebe has leveraged over $500,000 in the first year of her Fellowship. These savings and grant awards have supported the implementation of a single-stream recycling program, energy lighting and HVAC retrofits, energy job training for youth, and health and wellness initiatives at the district’s 132 schools.
